Leftists Cheer for More U.S. Casualties
Just as they did during the Vietnam War, the anti-war and anti-American left is leading cheers for more U.S. casualties in Iraq. Literally.
Prepare to hurl: Milestone of 1,000th U.S. Death in Iraq Looms for Bush -- AP story, naturally featured at the top of BuzzFlash.com. Quite a headline, huh? Here's part of the AP story:
The AP story predicts that the moment of the 1,000th casualty "will likely arrive around the time when the candidates are preparing for their crucial debates, tentatively scheduled for late September and early October." Rest assured that those news leads and op-eds have already been written.

"According to the most up-to-date Pentagon figure, which usually lags events on the ground by a few days, the United States has lost 931 military personnel in Iraq since the war began in March 2003."That's right -- the left is keeping a macabre scorecard, waiting for that 1,000th casualty. The anti-American left does not just want the war to end. They want it to end with massive American bloodshed, and they want it to end in utter humiliation and defeat for the United States. Because they hate America.
"Conversely, Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry's best strategy may be to confine himself to expressions of sorrow and comfort for the families of the fallen.Yeah, no kidding the media will do the job for him! Kerry won't even have to make mention of it -- because Michael Moore will! Why should Kerry have to do any of the dirty work?
"Kerry may just keep quiet. The media will probably do the job for him," said University of Michigan political scientist Vincent Hutchings."

I heard Rush talk about this today. Just like the half-vast left-wing to cheer for the 1,000th body bag. Misery is their currency. Hopefully, we'll win this war in spite of them.
